, question regarding benefit of believing in God is bound to arise. Below, we give different reasons for believing in God. Though, for easy understanding, we mention the need of God in different paragraphs but, actually, all these points tend to merge in each other.
1 One of the attribute of soul is hatred towards grief. Every action of ours is aimed at removal of our pains. There are a number of institutions for alleviating pains but having faith in God has been mentioned to be the prime prescription for removing pains from our lives. Now, the question arises as to how believing God alleviates our pains. God is giver of fruits of our actions and He is just also. As such, in no case, it is possible that in return of our good deeds, we have to suffer pain. This means that theism enforces us to do good deeds only. In the light of our experiences that theists, too, suffer from pains and atheists enjoy pleasures, how is this statement true? Since, soul is free to act, after it has decided to perform a particular act, God generates feelings of happiness & enthusiasm, if the thought of act is good and feelings of unpleasantness, shame & fear, if the thought of act is bad. One, who is able to hear this inner voice can escape from doing bad acts. This ability to hear this inner voice gets generated only on having faith in God.
2 Bliss is possessed by God only. Since, for enjoying a thing, we have to go to the possessor of that thing, for enjoyment of bliss, one has to go in the company of God.
3 In answer to the question-who is God?, it can be said that He is a bundle of good attributes. In the worldly life, we see that if one wants to be friend with someone, then, he has to imbibe some of his qualities. This is true in relation to God also. God gives intelligence, knowledge, power, peace, patience, means of enjoyment etc. Only by having these qualities, one is able to perform his duties towards the family, friends, teachers & society. In other words, following of ethics & morals in our worldly life is not possible without believing in God knowingly or unknowingly.
4 When we know that master of this universe, who creates, controls and dissolves it, is our companion, then, we tend to feel a sort of fearlessness in dealing with the world.
5 Realisation of the fact that He pervades souls, whether they (souls) are with bodies or without bodies purifies us and inspires us to do acts for the welfare of others.
6 When we understand that realisation of God is the only way to be free from the bondage of birth & death, then, we tend to channelize every action of ours for the fulfillment of the objective for which this creation has been made. Since, the objective of creation of this world is welfare of souls, our actions, too, move in this direction.

ATHENS, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Film industry production can be turned into a vehicle of economic growth for debt laden Greece, contributing millions of euros in revenues annually and creating tens of thousands new job positions, said a study released on Tuesday.
According to the study by leading Athens-based think tank Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE), Greek experts examined for the first time in recent years the economic impact of the film industry in the country and its potential.
The scope of their study was to determine the contribution of the film industry to the Greek economy, to analyse the obstacles to foreign film production in Greece and to quantify the potential economic benefits from removing these obstacles.
Creative and cultural industries, which include film and music production, TV-radio production and advertising production, contribute some 3 percent in the Greek GDP, employing about 110,000 people, according to 2013 data. Two years ago the number of employees working in the sector was almost double.
In the period 2010-2013, as all sectors of Greece's economy were hit hard by the debt crisis which threatened the country with default, the industry's revenues declined by about 14 percent each year, according to IOBE's estimates.
The potential to restore growth in the sector and support overall efforts to boost the national economy which just exited a six-year recession this year is remarkable, according to the experts.
The production of 20 Greek movies per year with average budget of 450,000 euros (about 562,500 U.S. dollars) could boost Greek GDP with 686 million euros and help create some 12,000 job positions, Professor Angelos Tsakanikas said, presenting the results of the study.
The benefits could multiply in the case of foreign productions filmed in Greece, taken into account the parallel significant promotion of Greece's tourism destinations through the films, IOBE experts said.
They pointed to recent Hollywood productions such as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001) and Mamma Mia (2008) which led to an average 15 percent increase of foreign visitors to the islands where the movies were filmed in coming years.
A most recent example is the Chinese production Beijing Love Story, which was filmed a few months ago on Santorini and helped make the island even more attractive for Chinese tourists this year, according to local hoteliers.
According to IOBE, one major foreign movie production worth 25 million euros filmed in Greece could contribute about 39 million euros to the local economy and create 755 job positions, excluding the revenues and job positions from the increased flow of tourists.
